Adhar started Diwali celebrations in Charnwood, with the service users at the John Storer House based in Loughborough, we all enjoyed hours of fun, laughter and games starting with a Diwali Quiz. This was interactive and informative with everyone sharing their thoughts and understanding of Diwali, correct answers in contributions were rewarded by lots of treats, everyone enjoyed participating.

We played Antakshari, the 3 teams went on to sing songs starting from the ending sound of the last song, sang by the previous team, this was a lot of fun and quickly into a lot of women passionately singing their favourite songs with lots of laughter added in.

We all enjoyed some Indian snacks and ladoos for lunch followed by an 8 prize raffle, donated by Adhar and service users.

I encouraged the service users to share their success stories, experiences and benefits of coming to the Adhar group and how it’s improved the quality of their lives, this was so rewarding to hear.

As the Lead Coordinator for Charnwood,, it’s always a pleasure to see celebrations and events turn into successful triumphs, where by service users and staff work together to create a happy and positive ambience for all to enjoy and to be a part of.

We all will be enjoying Diwali themed Arts & Crafts in the coming weeks so watch this space for more creative and happy times ahead.
